Arthrex India is seeking a qualified Legal & Compliance Specialist to join their team based in Chennai or Bangalore. Under the supervision of the Head Legal & Compliance, EMEA, the role focuses on designing, implementing, maintaining, and enforcing compliance initiatives within India, specifically aligning with local regulations and the company's code of conduct.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) and admitted to practice law in the country.
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience, with legal and compliance training responsibilities preferred.
- Mandatory prior experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry.
- English proficiency required; Tamil proficiency preferred for local stakeholder communication in Chennai.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Assist the Regional Compliance Officer (RCO) with general legal issues and provide counsel to the business within India.
- Draft legal memorandums, prepare legal documents, present legal recommendations, and manage litigation.
- Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise compliance policies, procedures, and training programs for the distributor network across India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
- Collaborate with departments such as Finance, HR, Sales, and Medical Education to direct local compliance issues for investigation and resolution.
- Monitor performance of the compliance program and promote the use of the Compliance Hotline and code of conduct awareness.
