Asian Paints is seeking a proactive legal professional for the position of Assistant Manager - Legal based in Mumbai. The role primarily focuses on contract management, commercial transactions, and supporting Legal Metrology compliance initiatives within the manufacturing and corporate sector.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of professional experience in Legal Metrology and Contracts.
- Industry Background: Preferred prior experience in FMCG, Manufacturing, or Retail sectors.
- Domain Knowledge: Hands-on expertise in Legal Metrology laws, Packaged Commodities Regulations, contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute management.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements including procurement, service, NDA, marketing, and logistics contracts.
- Advise business units on contractual risks, liabilities, indemnities, warranties, and compliance frameworks.
- Manage contract lifecycles, maintenance of repositories, and support periodic compliance audits.
- Assist in managing contractual disputes, legal notices, arbitrations, and coordination with external legal counsel.
- Provide regulatory support and participate in developmental exposure initiatives concerning product labelling under the Legal Metrology framework.
