Sr. Legal Counsel

The Barry Callebaut Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel based in Lebbeke, Flemish Region, Belgium. The role serves as a trusted business partner to the organization in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, providing pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice across commercial, corporate, compliance, and operational matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Master's degree in law.
• Fluency in English, French, and Dutch.
• Qualified lawyer in Belgium or another European jurisdiction preferred.
• Minimum 8-12 years of relevant legal experience gained in a leading international law firm and/or multinational corporation.
• Strong background in commercial contract law, business advisory, and experience supporting manufacturing, food industry, FMCG, B2B, or industrial environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of commercial agreements and develop standard contract templates.
• Advise management on legal matters affecting operations, support corporate governance, and participate in strategic business projects and restructurings.
• Promote adherence to company policies, deliver legal training, and support investigations and compliance reviews.
• Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters in collaboration with external counsel.
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, HR, Sustainability, and Digital teams.
