Associate Director - Compliance at BDO India

BDO India is seeking a senior compliance professional to oversee firm-wide regulatory compliance, advise on risk mitigation, and ensure adherence to applicable laws and industry standards. This role involves close collaboration with business leaders, legal teams, and external advisors.

Key Eligibility Criteria

  • Experience: 10-15 years of relevant PQE in legal and regulatory compliance roles.
  • Qualification: CS (Company Secretary) is mandatory. LLB/LLM or additional compliance certifications are preferred.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of corporate laws, financial regulations, data protection, and anti-corruption compliance. Excellent English proficiency (verbal and written).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Manage the firm’s compliance framework across all business units and support functions.
  • Monitor and interpret applicable laws and regulations, including Companies Act, SEBI regulations, FEMA, data privacy laws, and anti-bribery/corruption laws.
  • Advise leadership on regulatory changes, compliance risks, and mitigation strategies.
  • Draft and review compliance policies, SOPs, and internal guidelines.
  • Conduct risk assessments and compliance audits across departments.
  • Manage regulatory filings, submissions, and correspondence with authorities.
  • Support compliance training and awareness programs.
  • Support internal investigations into compliance breaches.
