Senior Legal Counsel & Compliance Manager at BrightCHAMPS
BrightCHAMPS, a global edtech company operating in over 30 countries, is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel & Compliance Manager in Bengaluru. This full-time, mid-senior level role involves serving as the primary legal advisor to the organization, overseeing commercial contracts, litigation, regulatory compliance, employment law, data privacy, and intellectual property across multiple jurisdictions including India, Singapore, the US, UAE, and Vietnam.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- LL.B. / B.A. LL.B. degree.
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal and compliance.
- Preferred: Experience handling cross-border legal matters across India, Singapore, US, UAE, and Vietnam.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements (customer, SaaS, vendor, partnership, consultancy, service, banking, financing). Maintain templates and playbooks.
- Litigation & Dispute Management: Manage domestic and international disputes (consumer, employment, TCPA, contractual, arbitration). Coordinate with external counsel and manage litigation strategy.
- Regulatory Compliance & Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with applicable laws, advise on data privacy and fintech regulations, and monitor regulatory developments.
- Employment Law: Advise on employment matters, HR policies, investigations, and labour law compliance.
- Intellectual Property: Manage IP protection, licensing, and enforcement.
- Legal Advisory: Draft legal notices and provide practical, risk-balanced legal advice to business, product, HR, and finance teams.
