BYD is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its team in Budapest, Hungary. The role involves managing corporate governance, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and site-specific legal support for manufacturing operations within the region.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Hold a recognized law degree and be qualified to practice law in Hungary.
- Possess 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably within manufacturing, electronics, automotive, or battery industries.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Hungarian Commercial, Corporate, and Labor Law.
- Be native/bilingual in Hungarian with professional working proficiency in English.
- Maintain the mobility and willingness to travel to project sites including Komárom, Páty, and Fót.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Compliance & Governance: Lead the design and localization of corporate policies, manage board resolutions, and monitor regulatory changes in Hungarian/EU laws.
- Commercial Contracts: Handle full-cycle contract management for procurement, sales, logistics, and service agreements.
- Site-Specific Advisory: Provide day-to-day legal support for plant managers on operational, labor, land use, utilities, and EHS matters.
- Dispute Resolution: Manage litigation and non-litigation disputes and lead responses to government audits or compliance investigations.
