Carta is seeking a Senior Contracts Lawyer to join Carta Law's UK Contracts team in London, England. Operating as an AI-native law firm for private capital, the role focuses on leading pre-M&A contract law transactions, managing client relationships, and leveraging legal technology alongside embedded AI agents.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Licensed to practise law in the UK, Europe, US, or Canada
• Minimum of 5+ Post Qualification Experience (PQE)
• Demonstrated track record in leading complex pre-M&A negotiations across cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters
• Familiarity with legal technology suites (e.g., Carta Ava, HighQ, CLM/e-signature platforms)

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead the negotiation of high-value, complex pre-M&A contracts and multi-party agreements
• Manage key client relationships with sophisticated investment fund and asset manager clients
• Supervise and instruct external counsel across relevant matters
• Drive continuous improvement and adoption of legal technology solutions
• Mentor and develop junior contract lawyers and senior paralegals with structured feedback
• Evolve firm-wide standard clause libraries and cross-client playbooks
