Sr. Counsel – Legal & Compliance at Cyient

Cyient, a global digital engineering and technology company, is recruiting a Senior Counsel for its General Corporate & Compliance function supporting the EMEA region. The role is based in Hyderabad and reports to the Associate Director – Legal & Compliance.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• In-house lawyer with 6-10 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Preference given to candidates with an IT background.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly across time zones and proficiency with legal tech tools.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Review and negotiate customer commercial contracts, including outsourcing service agreements, partnership/alliance agreements, NDAs, reseller agreements, and subcontracting engagements.
• Prepare legal documents for trade, commercial, financial, and operational matters (e.g., loans, leases, acquisitions, employment contracts).
• Provide legal advice to functional managers to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR.
• Supervise and mentor junior counsels in drafting proposals and responding to RFPs.
• Support disputes in collaboration with external counsel and the General Counsel’s office.
