Contextual Overview

Emerge Legal is seeking an experienced Associate specializing in Intellectual Property (IP) law to join their team. The successful candidate will manage and protect the company's intellectual property portfolio, handle trademark, design, and patent matters, coordinate with external counsel, and support enforcement actions.

Key Eligibility Criteria

LL.B. degree from a recognized university. 4–7 years of relevant experience in intellectual property law (in-house or law firm background preferred). Sound knowledge of Indian intellectual property laws, particularly trademark, patent, and design laws. Strong legal research, analytical, drafting, and communication skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

Manage and maintain the firm's intellectual property portfolio including trademarks, industrial designs, and patents. Handle trademark searches, applications, prosecution, renewals, oppositions, and assignments. Coordinate design and patent filings with external counsel and technical teams. Monitor and address potential infringements, counterfeiting, and unauthorized use of IP rights. Assist in managing IP-related disputes, cancellations, and litigation proceedings. Conduct legal research on IP laws and regulations to provide practical legal advice. Perform IP due diligence, audits, and maintain accurate documentation records.
