EY is seeking a Supervising Associate to join its Global Delivery Services (GDS) Legal team in Bengaluru. This role focuses on the global data protection program, providing legal advice, managing privacy impact assessments, and ensuring compliance across multiple international jurisdictions including India, the UK, and various European and Latin American locations.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualification: Law graduate with a valid practising certificate from a GDS location or a GDPR-compliant jurisdiction.
- Experience: Approximately 7 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE), with at least 5 years specifically in data protection as legal counsel.
- Preferred: Recognized data protection/privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E) or a willingness to obtain one within the first six months.
- Skills: Expertise in operational data protection processes (PIA, RoPA, data transfer agreements) and international data protection legislation.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Provide legal interpretation of data protection legislation and EY’s global privacy framework.
- Advise on privacy impact assessments, third-party due diligence, and contract-related data protection clauses.
- Manage individual rights requests and data access requests.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including GDS Lead Counsel, Chief Privacy Officer, and Risk Management teams.
- Prepare management reports and update internal policies and procedures.
