Contextual Overview

Godrej Capital is seeking a dynamic Legal Manager to join its corporate legal team in Mumbai, Maharashtra, contributing to all legal activities and contract management within the NBFC sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Essential Qualification: LLB degree.
• Preferred Qualification: LLB combined with Company Secretary (CS).
• Experience: 5-7 years of past work experience handling contracts or working within a corporate legal team, law firm, or NBFC.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Vetting, negotiating, and closing all funding treasury contracts (term loans, cash credit, NCDs, etc.) including final sign-off prior to execution.
• Vetting, negotiating, and closing contracts for strategic partnerships, vendor agreements, NDAs, and service level agreements.
• Maintaining strict records of all contracts throughout their lifecycle.
• Providing opinions on applicable stamp duty for various contracts.
• Drafting replies to super-escalated customer complaints, including escalations to regulators.
• Preparing standard contractual documents such as vendor agreements and NDAs.
• Resolving general disputes including brand abuse and non-contractual behavior by vendors.
• Conducting legal research on various topics on an as-needed basis.
