Contextual Overview

Lawrence Stephens is seeking a Solicitor to join its growing Construction team based in the Farringdon office, London, offering hybrid working opportunities. The role involves managing a broad construction practice with exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Ideally 2-4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in construction law.
• Candidates with relevant training seat experience or strong demonstrated interest in the construction sector are also considered.
• Familiarity with standard form construction contracts such as JCT, NEC, and ideally FIDIC.
• Strong academic background and sound technical legal knowledge.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Assist with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, collateral warranties, professional appointments, and project documentation.
• Support construction due diligence for real estate, development, and finance transactions.
• Advise clients on live construction projects, contractual interpretation, risk management, and dispute avoidance.
• Assist with contentious matters including adjudication, arbitration, litigation, and Technology and Construction Court proceedings.
• Collaborate across teams including Real Estate, Dispute Resolution, and Corporate and Commercial.
