Senior Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

Lendi Group is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. In this role, the candidate will provide commercially focused legal advice across a diverse and evolving business, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• 6+ years of legal experience, ideally within financial services, lending, fintech, technology, or a regulated environment
• A law degree and a current practising certificate
• Strong commercial judgement and experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
• Confidence in advising and influencing senior stakeholders on complex matters

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to senior leaders and teams
• Support strategic initiatives, including new products, projects, acquisitions, and regulatory changes
• Advise on the design and governance of AI-enabled tools, privacy, and ethical considerations
• Lead commercial contracting across supplier, technology, distribution, and service agreements
• Navigate complex regulatory matters across consumer credit, AML/CTF, competition law, and franchising
• Support customer complaints and engagement with regulators, government agencies, and industry bodies
