Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Contract Specialist to join its team as part of the Global Delivery Services Center in India (with locations in Bengaluru and Mumbai). The role focuses on commercial disciplines including contract reviews, advice, cross-border delivery, disputes, claims, tax, and insurance, with a bias towards UK infrastructure contracts.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- LLB or Quantity Surveying degree (preferred; graduates with the right mindset are also considered).
- Relevant experience either in a large engineering or construction company (mandatory).
- Understanding of UK infrastructure contract law (preferred) and use of standardised contracts such as the New Engineering Contract (mandatory).
- Good practical experience in applying legal principles and commercial law, complemented by strong analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including consultancy agreements, framework agreements, MoUs, and NDAs.
- Conduct commercial reviews to identify departures from governance parameters and assist project teams in securing internal approvals.
- Draft and update commercial guidance to raise awareness of recurrent topics and new regulations across key markets.
- Assist Divisional Commercial Managers and unit teams, including leading on commercial risk management for projects.
- Support governance functions via liaison with the Legal Department, Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection, and Insurance teams.
