Senior Contract Specialist at Mott MacDonald
Mott MacDonald, a global engineering, management, and development consultancy, is recruiting a Senior Contract Specialist for its Global Delivery Services Center in India. The role focuses on the Energy Unit with a bias towards UK infrastructure contracts, involving commercial disciplines such as contract reviews, advice, cross-border delivery, disputes, claims, tax, and insurance.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: LLB or Quantity Surveying degree (preferred).
- Experience: Relevant experience in a large engineering or construction company (mandatory).
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of UK infrastructure contract law and use of standardised contracts (e.g., New Engineering Contract) (mandatory).
- Skills: Good practical experience in legal principles and commercial law; strong analytical skills; ability to multitask and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements (consultancy, framework, MoUs, NDAs).
- Conduct commercial reviews to identify departures from governance parameters and assist project teams in obtaining internal approvals.
- Draft and update commercial guidance on recurrent topics and new regulations in key markets.
- Assist Divisional Commercial Managers and lead on commercial risk management for projects.
- Support governance functions including liaison with Legal, Ethics & Compliance, Data Protection, and Insurance teams.
