Senior Analyst, Data Privacy

Contextual Overview

MUFG (Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group) is seeking a Senior Analyst, Data Privacy to join their Core Compliance EMEA division based in Bangalore. This role supports the EMEA data privacy team and Data Protection Officers, focusing on data protection, cross-border data movement (CBDM), and offshoring/outsourcing initiatives within a dual-hat arrangement across the firm's banking and securities businesses.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• University degree or equivalent.
• Proven experience in compliance or legal fields.
• Demonstrated interest and motivation in data privacy and protection.
• Preferred: Experience in financial services and knowledge of EU/UK data protection laws; CIPP/E or relevant certifications.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide guidance to Business Process Owners (BPOs) on data privacy obligations.
• Manage training schedules, awareness programs, and record-keeping (ROPA/DPIA registers).
• Act as a first responder for privacy incidents, breaches, and data subject rights requests.
• Support the triage and coordination of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Transfer Risk Assessments.
• Conduct regulatory horizon scanning and prepare metrics/reports for EMEA leadership and the Global Data Privacy Officer.
