Contextual Overview

Navi is hiring a legal professional for the Collaterals (Legal) role within its Credit Strategy team based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The position focuses on supporting Navi's Home Loans business by driving legal operations within the collateral risk function, reviewing property-related documentation, and ensuring regulatory compliance for lending decisions.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Degree: LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws) is mandatory.
• Experience: Previous experience in property legal scrutiny, title due diligence, mortgage operations, legal operations, banking/NBFC legal functions, or collateral risk management.
• Skills: Strong understanding of property law, title verification, encumbrance checks, mortgage creation, and lending-related legal documentation, alongside proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and reporting tools.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Review and validate collateral legal reports, title documents, encumbrance records, and collateral-related documentation.
• Identify, assess, and escalate legal risks, title defects, ownership concerns, litigation risks, and compliance gaps.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels, panel advocates, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely legal clearances.
• Maintain legal risk databases, audit trails, and management reporting related to collateral approvals.
• Support fraud detection and risk mitigation initiatives through robust legal due diligence and exception monitoring.
