Contextual Overview
Omoda | Jaecoo France, the French arm of Chery Automobile’s Omoda and Jaecoo brands, is seeking a senior in‑house legal counsel to support its rapid expansion in France.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Master 2 in labour law, business law or equivalent.
- Registered with the French Bar (CAPA required).
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Expertise in French labour law, commercial law, RGPD, tax and corporate law.
- Proven track record in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Fluent in French and professional English; Chinese is a plus.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Advise HR and operational teams on French labour code and collective agreements.
- Draft, review and secure employment documents (contracts, amendments, disciplinary procedures, CSE dossiers).
- Manage contract terminations, social litigation and relations with trade unions.
- Draft, analyse and negotiate commercial contracts with suppliers, partners and distributors.
- Handle commercial disputes and coordinate external counsel.
- Support GDPR compliance and liaise with the CNIL.
- Monitor fiscal and corporate law matters in coordination with Finance.
- Coordinate specialised external law firms (tax, IP, complex litigation, regulatory compliance).
- Contribute to internal legal best‑practice and corporate governance.
