Peergrowth is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel - Banking/Finance to join their legal team in Sharjah, UAE. The role focuses on providing advisory support for banking transactions, product developments, and regulatory compliance frameworks.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in law or equivalent from any jurisdiction.
• Common Law qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience specializing in banking and finance.
• Experience spanning private practice and in-house counsel roles handling complex legal matters.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Support UAE banking transactions and advise internal stakeholders to execute deals efficiently with minimal legal risk.
• Develop, enhance, and standardize legal documentation and templates for banking and IT products.
• Collaborate with product teams to structure innovative banking products and provide legal guidance on compliance frameworks.
• Handle syndications, derivatives, and structured finance legal frameworks.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, lending, and security documentation.
• Ensure sound knowledge of Islamic Finance documentation structures including Ijara and Murabaha.
• Manage external counsel engagements, cost controls, and ensure quality outputs.
