Contextual Overview

Revantage, a Blackstone Real Estate portfolio company, is seeking an experienced professional for the AVP, Legal position based in Bengaluru, India. This role supports American Campus Communities (ACC)—a Blackstone portfolio company and student housing developer—by providing substantive legal support across commercial contracts, property operations, regulatory matters, and corporate governance.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Hold a JD, LL.B., or equivalent law degree (admission to practice in the candidate's home jurisdiction preferred).
• Minimum of 8 or more years of relevant legal experience.
• Meaningful experience supporting US corporate, commercial, real estate, or operating-company matters.
• Strong commercial contracting, legal drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Advise on contract interpretation, landlord-tenant requirements, leasing practices, and regulatory developments affecting US jurisdictions.
• Maintain corporate entity files, organizational records, and governance documentation.
• Provide substantive legal support for privacy, litigation, insurance claims, and risk matters.
• Coordinate with outside counsel, senior US-based legal leadership, and internal business stakeholders across finance, accounting, and operations.
• Oversee the work and performance of junior attorneys on the Bengaluru legal team.
