Contextual Overview

Rothstein Recruitment is hiring a Legal Counsel for an international Bank based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This full-time role is tailored for a Banking and Finance Lawyer to advise on a diverse portfolio of lending and finance transactions across corporate banking and financial institutions.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualified practising solicitor (or equivalent) with 1-5 years PQE.
• Experience in General Lending and financial services gained at a UK or international law firm.
• In-depth knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding bank lending in the UK.
• Familiarity with LMA standard documentation, standard financing structures, and conditions precedent documentation.
• Prior in-house financial services experience is desirable.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise business teams on transactional legal work, identifying legal and regulatory risks and proposing mitigants.
• Draft term sheets, facility agreements, trade finance documentation, and secondary trading documentation.
• Review and provide legal input into new product approval requests and commercial contracts.
• Research and prepare internal notes and training on legal and regulatory developments.
• Manage day-to-day risk, including conduct risk and controls through the Bank's risk framework processes.
