Contextual Overview
Rutherford is recruiting a Junior Legal Counsel (0–3 PQE) for a privately owned investment management firm specializing in private credit and alternative investment strategies. Reporting to the General Counsel, this role offers exposure to corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters within an international business setting.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified solicitor with 0-3 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) in corporate and/or commercial law.
- Experience gained at a reputable law firm or within an in-house legal team.
- Paralegals who have recently qualified or are nearing qualification through the SQE route are also welcome to apply.
- Strong drafting skills, commercial awareness, and a proactive approach.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Corporate Governance: Support group entity management, board and committee matters, corporate restructurings, and intercompany arrangements.
- Commercial Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements including technology, outsourcing, consultancy, and service provider contracts.
- Employment: Advise on employment contracts, policies, incentive arrangements, and HR-related legal matters.
- Regulatory & Compliance: Collaborate with compliance teams on regulatory obligations, internal policies, data protection, and risk management.
- General Legal Advisory: Provide practical legal advice across the business, handling strategic projects and cross-border matters.
Stipend, Compensation & Mode
Salary: £90,000 – £120,000 per year (depending on experience)
Bonus: 20%
Mode: Full-time (4 days in the office on Regent Street, Central London; 1 day working from home)
