Contextual Overview

Scapia, a fintech company specializing in co-branded credit cards for travel, is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join their team in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This individual contributor role reports to the Head of Finance and focuses on commercial legal advisory, regulatory compliance, and legal risk management.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: LL.B. from a reputed institution.
• Experience: 7–9 years of post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial legal or advisory roles.
• Preferred Background: Experience in fintech, banking, payments, or consumer internet industries; prior exposure to litigation and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Commercial Advisory: Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and customer-facing terms.
• Regulatory Support: Manage responses to regulatory notices, summons, and investigations; liaise with government authorities.
• Dispute Resolution: Oversee litigation strategy, coordinate with external counsel, and manage civil/commercial disputes.
• Governance: Conduct legal research, prepare internal guidance notes, and maintain legal documentation and trackers.
