Contextual Overview

Scapia, a fintech company focused on co-branded credit cards and travel experiences, is hiring a Legal Counsel to strengthen its legal function. This individual contributor role reports to the Head of Finance and involves managing commercial legal advisory, regulatory matters, and legal risk management.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: LL.B. from a reputed institution.
• Experience: 7–9 years of post-qualification experience in corporate legal, commercial legal, or legal advisory roles.
• Preferred Background: Experience in fintech, banking, payments, technology, or e-commerce.
• Preferred Skillset: Exposure to litigation and dispute resolution.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, regulatory, and operational matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, vendor contracts, and customer-facing terms.
• Manage regulatory responses, notices, and communications with statutory bodies.
• Oversee litigation strategy and coordinate with external counsel for dispute resolution.
• Conduct legal research and maintain internal legal governance and risk assessment documentation.
