Manager - Legal, Compliance & Company Secretarial

Contextual Overview

Skechers India is seeking a qualified Lawyer and Company Secretary to join its legal function as Manager – Legal, Compliance & Company Secretarial in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role provides comprehensive legal, regulatory, and corporate governance support across commercial contracts, litigation, intellectual property, and company secretarial matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: LL.B. / Bachelor of Law (Mandatory) and Company Secretary (CS) (Mandatory). Additional legal or compliance qualifications are an advantage.
• Experience: 8–12 years of relevant post-qualification experience in legal, compliance, and/or company secretarial functions. Experience in retail, consumer, FMCG, or e-commerce is preferred.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Draft, review, negotiate, and provide legal inputs on commercial contracts, lease agreements, vendor agreements, and NDAs.
• Support the identification, interpretation, and implementation of statutory and regulatory requirements, including Legal Metrology.
• Coordinate and assist in managing litigation, notices, claims, disputes, and liaison with external legal counsel.
• Support brand protection initiatives, trademark matters, and intellectual property rights (IPR).
• Assist the Company Secretary in corporate governance, board/committee meetings, statutory filings, and compliance with the Companies Act.
• Support implementation of data privacy and protection requirements.
