Head of Legal

Role Overview

The SLK Group is seeking a seasoned Head of Legal based in Bengaluru to provide strategic legal leadership, risk management, and regulatory oversight. This role involves managing corporate secretarial functions, complex international IT outsourcing contracts, M&A transactions, and government relations across multiple geographies including the USA, UK, and Europe.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Bachelor of Law from a reputed national law school or equivalent.
• Experience: 15-20 years of experience in IT or IT-related sectors.
• Leadership: Minimum 5-7 years of experience serving as the Head of Legal for an IT product company with a substantial revenue base.
• Expertise: Proven track record in cross-border contract negotiations, M&A, and regulatory compliance (SEBI, Companies Act, RBI).

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Secretarial & Compliance: Oversee board meetings, statutory filings with RoC/MCA/SEBI, and maintain corporate governance standards.
• Contract Management: Lead end-to-end drafting, negotiation, and vetting of complex international IT outsourcing contracts and SLAs.
• M&A: Manage public and private M&A, joint ventures, and cross-border transactions.
• Government Relations: Advise on government policies and local laws in the US, UK, Austria, UAE, and Maldives.
• Legal Strategy: Provide professional legal advice on employment issues, litigation management, and intellectual property/patents.
