Senior Legal Counsel – Thomson Reuters, Barcelona
Thomson Reuters is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to support its global business from its Barcelona office.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Fluency in English
- JD/Law degree from an accredited law school
- Member of the local bar in good standing and licensed to practice law in Spain
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a practicing lawyer (in‑house experience strongly preferred)
- Significant transactional experience in drafting and negotiating major content licensing, distribution and other complex commercial agreements
- Strong understanding of copyright and intellectual property laws
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Review, structure and negotiate commercial agreements across sales, product, technology, finance, content licensing, events, SaaS, digital advertising and sponsorship
- Provide general in‑house commercial legal support to Reuters business units globally
- Advise Go‑to‑Market teams on contracting best practice, negotiation strategies and risk management
- Partner with Thomson Reuters lawyers worldwide to ensure compliance with privacy, data security, IP and regulatory standards
- Safeguard Thomson Reuters Trust Principles
