Senior Legal Counsel at Thomson Reuters
Thomson Reuters is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel based in Barcelona, Spain to support Reuters' global business. This is a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 remote) where the candidate will partner with Go-to-Market, Finance, Product, and other business functions to drive commercial objectives.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: JD/Law degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Member of the local bar in good standing and licensed to practice law in Spain.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience as a practicing lawyer, with in-house experience strongly preferred.
- Skills: Fluency in English; significant transactional experience in drafting/negotiating complex commercial agreements (content licensing, distribution, SaaS); strong understanding of copyright and IP laws.

- Provide general in-house commercial legal support to Reuters business units globally.
- Counsel Go-to-Market teams on contracting best practices, negotiation strategies, and risk management.
- Partner with global legal teams to ensure compliance with privacy, data security, IP, and regulatory standards.
- Safeguard the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles (integrity, independence, freedom from bias).
