Traya is seeking a dynamic, commercially minded Senior Associate - Legal for a full-time, permanent position based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This high-ownership role within the Legal and Compliance department spans commercial contract review, regulatory compliance, dispute management, intellectual property protection, and litigation tracking within the fast-growing D2C health and wellness space.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Holds an LLB or LLM from a recognised Indian law school.
- Enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
- 3 to 4 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) gained in a law firm, in-house legal team, or a combination of both.
- Demonstrated experience in independently reviewing, drafting, and negotiating various commercial agreements.
- Working knowledge of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, advertising/marketing compliance (ASCI Code, FSS Advertising Regulations), and IP law.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Contract Review and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate technology/SaaS agreements, influencer and creator agreements, celebrity endorsement contracts, and employment agreements.
- Regulatory & Advertising Compliance: Advise the business on applicable regulatory, advertising, and marketing compliance standards.
- Dispute Management: Handle consumer complaints, regulatory notices, legal notices, and consumer forum proceedings.
- Intellectual Property: Oversee trademark filings, prosecution, renewals, and monitor potential infringements or passing off.
- Litigation Tracking: Maintain an active litigation tracker covering civil suits, consumer forums, arbitrations, and IP disputes while coordinating with external counsel.
- Legal Function Building: Contribute actively to scaling and establishing the company's internal legal framework.
