Trip.com Group, a global online travel services provider, is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel for the EMEA region, based in Dubai (hybrid working). The role reports to the Legal Director, EMEA and focuses on commercial, regulatory and compliance matters across the Middle East and broader EMEA.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Qualified lawyer with minimum 8 years post‑qualification experience.
- At least 4 years of practising experience in the United Arab Emirates.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
- In‑house legal experience; background in B2C or technology platforms is a plus.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Provide commercially focused legal advice to senior stakeholders on key projects.
- Navigate multi‑jurisdictional legal issues across EMEA and coordinate with global legal teams.
- Lead compliance matters including data protection, consumer protection, digital & technology regulation, marketing, and travel‑specific regulation.
- Monitor legislative developments and drive implementation projects.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with travel product suppliers and partners.
- Build trusted relationships with commercial, finance, HR and marketing teams.
- Deliver training and guidance on legal concepts to business units.
- Manage commercial and consumer disputes and liaise with regulators.
- Oversee external counsel relationships across EMEA.
- Contribute to improvement of legal processes, templates and tools.
