Van Oord is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel Corporate to join their Corporate Legal team in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The role involves acting as a business partner on corporate legal, corporate governance, M&A, financing, and strategic matters, while coordinating group-wide litigation and disputes.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Master's degree in Dutch law.
- Experience: 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in corporate legal matters within a dynamic international environment, including corporate governance, financing, and strategic transactions.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of corporate law, corporate governance, and litigation/dispute resolution. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Language: Fluency in both Dutch and English.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Advise the business on corporate legal, corporate governance, M&A, financing, and strategic matters.
- Support the management and maintenance of Van Oord's corporate governance framework and legal entity structure.
- Coordinate and maintain oversight of group-wide litigation and disputes, preparing the annual Claims & Litigation Report.
- Monitor litigation-related legal risk trends and external legal spend.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Strategy & Markets, Treasury, Group Finance) and external stakeholders (banks, auditors, public authorities, notaries).
Stipend, Compensation & Mode
- Compensation: Salary matching responsibilities and experience, plus a variable bonus, home office allowance, and expense allowance.
- Mode: Full-time position based in Rotterdam with a flexible working from home policy (up to 2 days a week).
