Senior Legal Counsel – WiZink
WiZink Bank Portugal is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive legal support across its Lisbon office, focusing on consumer lending products and services.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Law Degree (LLB) or Master’s in Law
- Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience in banking, financial services, international law firms or highly regulated industries
- Strong knowledge of consumer credit and consumer protection frameworks
- Proven contract drafting, review and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English (Spanish is a plus)
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Provide legal advice to business and support functions on banking activities
- Draft, negotiate and validate contracts, commercial agreements, outsourcing arrangements, SLAs, policies and other legal documentation
- Support day‑to‑day legal matters and regulatory questions for business teams
- Manage legal disputes, customer claims, administrative proceedings and litigation matters
- Review marketing, advertising and customer communications for compliance
- Monitor and communicate legal and regulatory developments impacting the bank
- Interact with regulatory authorities and prepare documentation for supervisory reviews
- Identify legal and regulatory risks and provide recommendations aligned with strategic objectives
- Prepare legal reports, presentations and updates for senior management and governance committees
