Key Responsibilities

The selected Legal Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of high-impact legal functions, including:

• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing complex maritime, logistics, and commercial agreements.
• Managing contracts involving key clients and strategic business partners.
• Leading contract negotiations with customers and external stakeholders to achieve balanced outcomes.
• Supporting Maersk’s global customer contracting agenda through risk-aware and commercially aligned contract management.
• Partnering with commercial and product teams to provide strategic legal advice on contractual risks and mitigation strategies.
• Ensuring compliance with internal legal policies and business objectives.
• Mentoring junior legal professionals and contributing to team development and knowledge management initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Law (LL.B. or LL.M.).
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in contract review, drafting, and negotiations. Experience working in an international law firm or a multinational corporation (MNC) is highly preferred.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong knowledge of international maritime and logistics law is preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Language: Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory. Knowledge of an additional foreign language is considered an advantage.
