Contextual Overview

Addleshaw Goddard is seeking an Associate (3+ PQE) to join its growing Data & Digital team in Aberdeen, Scotland. The role involves advising leading clients across retail, technology, healthcare, sports, and financial services on complex data protection, privacy, and commercial matters.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 3+ years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) in data protection, privacy, and information law.
• Strong hands-on experience handling DSARs (Data Subject Access Requests) and wider data subject rights matters.
• Demonstrated experience advising on UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and related regulatory frameworks.
• Must be physically based in Aberdeen for this role.
• Commercial awareness with a practical, solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead on complex data protection, privacy, and commercial legal matters.
• Play a key role in managing DSARs and data subject rights programmes for major domestic and international organisations.
• Advise on GDPR compliance, international data transfers, cyber regulation, AI governance, and privacy operations.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, disputes, employment, and legal tech teams across UK offices.
• Build trusted client relationships and actively contribute to the expansion of the firm's data offering.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Mode: Full-time, On-site (Aberdeen, Scotland)
