Associate General Counsel, Cyber & Privacy Legal

Contextual Overview

AIG is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join its Data, Digital, and Cyber Legal Group in New York. This senior-level role focuses on managing complex cybersecurity incident responses, negotiating technology agreements, and providing strategic regulatory counsel within the global financial services sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school.
• Active license to practice law.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant legal experience.
• Proven expertise in incident response and cyber-risk management for highly regulated organizations.
• CIPP-US or CISSP certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Regulatory Compliance: Advise on global cybersecurity regulations and serve as the primary legal contact for financial-services regulators.
• Incident Response: Lead legal strategy for multi-jurisdictional cyber incidents and refine enterprise response protocols.
• Contracting: Draft and negotiate complex vendor and client-facing cybersecurity agreements.
• Strategic Advisory: Partner with CISO and technology leadership to shape enterprise cyber risk strategy.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Salary: $170,000 – $200,000 per annum, plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus. This is a full-time, in-office position.
