Contextual Overview

Amazon is seeking a Corporate Counsel for its Labor & Employment team to serve as a primary legal advisor to operations business teams. The role involves providing day-to-day employment law guidance, managing high-stakes litigation (including class actions and PAGA claims), and developing risk mitigation strategies for logistics and workforce operations.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in at least one state bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-bar legal experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Employment Law.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Serve as an embedded legal advisor for operations business teams regarding workforce compliance.
• Direct employment litigation from inception through resolution, including class actions and high-exposure single-plaintiff cases.
• Assess, select, and supervise outside counsel.
• Partner with HR and business leadership to proactively identify and mitigate legal exposure.
• Support regulatory responses and government investigations.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Base Salary: $153,900 – $208,200 USD annually. The compensation package also includes sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and comprehensive benefits (health insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off).
