Legal Counsel – Investments & Projects, Asia Pacific

Contextual Overview

A.P. Moller - Maersk (APM Terminals) is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to support infrastructure investments and project delivery across the Asia Pacific region. Based in Singapore, this role involves providing legal oversight throughout the project lifecycle, including investment, construction, and operational phases.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Qualified lawyer in a recognised jurisdiction (common-law qualification preferred).
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience, combining leading law firm practice and in-house experience in a multinational organization.
• Expertise: Demonstrated experience in major infrastructure projects, international commercial transactions, and EPC/FIDIC contracting.
• Skills: Excellent drafting and negotiation skills; ability to influence senior stakeholders across diverse cultures.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Advise on concession tenders, extensions, joint ventures, and greenfield/brownfield terminal expansion projects.
• Draft and negotiate complex project, construction, and development agreements.
• Manage project delivery risks, including claims, disputes, and performance security.
• Coordinate with regional/global legal, tax, and compliance functions.
• Oversee external legal counsel and manage associated budgets.
