AVP Legal (NBFC / Structured Finance)

Contextual Overview

Aquis Search is recruiting an AVP, Legal on behalf of a fast-scaling wealth NBFC in Mumbai. The role involves independently running transactions, legal structuring, and closing facilities and products such as loans against securities, loans against property, and structured liabilities.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: 4 to 6 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE).
• Domain Expertise: Hands-on experience in NBFC, banking, or structured finance transactions.
• Background: Law firm background with an active NBFC/banking/structured finance practice, or experience in an in-house legal team at an NBFC or bank.
• Skills: Strong drafting, negotiation skills, and sound commercial judgment.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Independently structure, negotiate, and run transactions across lending products including loan against securities and loan against property facilities.
• Provide legal structuring support on structured products such as NCDs, commercial paper, PTCs, and other structured liabilities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate facility agreements, security documents, and other transaction documentation in coordination with business and credit teams.
• Handle general legal work including NDAs and routine commercial agreements.
• Support compliance and risk teams on regulatory matters relevant to NBFC operations.
