Associate Attorney (Civil Litigation)

Contextual Overview

Ascendion, an AV Preeminent®-rated law firm, is seeking two experienced civil litigation attorneys to join their team for sophisticated public entity defense work. This role offers a hybrid/remote work arrangement based in Southern California.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Licensure: Active California Bar license in good standing.
• Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in California civil litigation.
• Preferred Background: Prior experience in insurance defense, personal injury, construction defect, or employment law.
• Skills: Ability to manage a caseload independently from start to finish with strong legal writing capabilities.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Manage an independent caseload of civil litigation matters.
• Perform public entity defense work.
• Maintain an annual billable target of 1800 hours.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Salary: $170,000 – $200,000 per annum (based on geography, skills, and experience).

Benefits: Includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with a 4% match, flexible PTO, and origination bonuses.
