Auchan Romania is inviting applications for the position of Senior Legal Counsel (Consilier Juridic Senior) in Bucharest. Operating under a hybrid work model, the selected professional will join the internal legal department to provide specialized advisory services in commercial law and competition law, manage legal risks, and ensure company compliance across retail operations.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Licență în Drept).
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar legal role.
• Domain Knowledge: Strong knowledge of commercial law and competition law (prior experience in the retail sector is an advantage).
• Language Proficiency: Advanced written and spoken English (C1/C2 level); working knowledge of French is a plus.
• Technical & Soft Skills: Advanced MS Office proficiency, excellent negotiation and legal drafting capabilities, and high analytical skills.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide legal advisory services in commercial law, competition law, and retail sector regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including procurement, supply, service provision, and strategic partnerships.
• Assess and mitigate legal risks relating to commercial practices, pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and vendor relations.
• Develop, update, and implement internal compliance policies and conduct training sessions for management, sales, and procurement teams.
• Monitor legislative developments and authority practices, formulating recommendations for internal business units.
• Manage relations with regulatory authorities, including preparing documentation, notifications, and formal responses to investigations or inquiries.
• Collaborate with external counsel, legal consultants, and cross-functional teams on complex legal projects.
