Associate - Privacy and Digital Risk Class Action and Litigation

Contextual Overview

BakerHostetler is seeking a mid-level associate (3-7 years of experience) to join its Digital Assets and Data Management (DADM) Group in Denver, CO. The role focuses on privacy and data security-related litigation, specifically handling class actions arising from data security incidents for major corporate clients.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Experience: 3-7 years of litigation experience, with a focus on privacy and class action defense.
• Education: J.D. from a nationally recognized and accredited law school.
• Licensure: Must be admitted or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar. Admission to the California Bar is considered a plus.
• Background: Prior AmLaw 100 experience is preferred.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Manage all aspects of privacy and data security litigation.
• Develop strategies for consumer class actions, including Article III and Rule 12(b)(6) dismissal motions.
• Advise on state and federal privacy laws (e.g., BIPA, FCRA, FACTA).
• Maintain high-level project management and communication standards in a fast-paced environment.

Stipend, Compensation & Mode

Annual Salary: $240,000 - $315,000 (determined by experience and skills). The role also includes a performance- and hours-based bonus program and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k), and 20 days of vacation.
