Legal EEMEA Counsel

Contextual Overview

Barilla Group is inviting applications for the position of Legal EEMEA Counsel to support its operations across the Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region. This in-house legal role involves partnering with regional and global legal teams to advise on commercial contracts, corporate governance, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, data privacy, and litigation management. The position can be based in either Athens, Greece or Istanbul, Turkey.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Law from an accredited law school.
• Professional Experience: Minimum 5+ years of legal experience, ideally within the food or consumer goods industry. In-house legal experience is preferred.
• Subject Expertise: Solid knowledge of Corporate Affairs, Intellectual Property (IP), Compliance, Data Privacy (GDPR/CCPA), and Food Law.
• Bar Admission: Admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction within the EEMEA region is preferred.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English along with proficiency in either Greek or Turkish is required. Additional regional languages are considered an asset.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide legal counsel to regional business teams on commercial, contractual, corporate, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, negotiate, and review agreements including supplier, distributor, service, non-disclosure (NDAs), and partnership contracts.
• Support global corporate headquarters on local corporate governance, board/shareholder resolutions, and legal entity management.
• Implement and monitor compliance programs and policies (e.g., antitrust, data protection/privacy, IP management).
• Manage regional intellectual property portfolios, enforce IP rights, and defend against infringement claims.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution processes in the region in coordination with external counsel.
• Conduct regular legal risk assessments and support internal audits and investigations.
