Senior Legal Counsel (m/w/d) at BIT Capital

BIT Capital GmbH, a BaFin-supervised asset manager based in Berlin, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead its legal function. The role involves independent advisory on supervisory law, coordination with regulators (BaFin, Bundesbank), and management of regulatory mandates including Deputy MLRO and Data Protection Officer duties.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Two legal state examinations (Zwei juristische Staatsexamen) with above-average results.
• Several years of experience in supervisory law for financial institutions (Big Law, Boutique, or In-house).
• Strong knowledge of WpIG, WpHG, KAGB, MaRisk, MaComp, and GwG.
• Fluent in German and English.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Provide independent legal advice on supervisory matters to internal departments (Portfolio Management, Investment Operations, Sales, HR).
• Coordinate internal and external audits and manage communication with BaFin and Bundesbank.
• Serve as Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer (Deputy MLRO) and Data Protection Officer.
• Support the launch of new funds and international expansion strategies.
• Manage contract law, labor law, and data protection compliance.
