Brown-Forman is inviting applications for the position of Legal Counsel - Asia/ANZPI based in Singapore. Reporting to the APAC Regional Counsel, the selected candidate will support sales, regulatory, compliance, and general commercial matters across Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. This role offers exposure to cross-border commercial transactions, corporate legal maintenance, and multinational regional business operations.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Bachelorโs degree or higher in Law.
- Experience: Approximately 3 years of prior legal experience in commercial contracts, regulatory review, and corporate maintenance. Experience with corporate multinationals in the region or top-tier law firm training is preferred.
- Skills & Language: Strong business acumen, ability to work independently, and effective communication skills in English. Fluency in an Asian language (such as Korean, Japanese, or Chinese) is an added advantage.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Commercial Support: Draft, review, negotiate, and analyze commercial contracts with customers, distributors, and vendors across the region. Assess competition law risks and manage contract administration.
- Corporate Maintenance: Maintain company filings across the region in coordination with accounting and tax teams; draft and track intercompany agreements.
- Regulatory & Marketing Compliance: Review beverage alcohol advertising and marketing promotions for compliance with legal standards and voluntary industry codes; advise marketing and placement agencies.
- Compliance & Training: Conduct training and implement policies regarding anti-bribery, privacy, competition law, and internal controls.
- External Counsel & Project Management: Assist in engaging and managing outside counsel, as well as driving legal operations development.
