Senior Legal Counsel

Contextual Overview

Calgary Airports is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their three-member legal team. This role involves managing complex legal matters, providing strategic guidance on commercial agreements, and supporting the organization's operational and risk-mitigation initiatives within the aviation sector.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: Bachelor of Law Degree.
• Licensure: Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive legal experience, combining private practice and in-house corporate counsel roles.
• Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
• Expertise: Demonstrated experience in procurement, commercial agreements, and construction/IT contracts.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Independently manage complex legal matters and provide strategic legal support.
• Draft and negotiate diverse agreements, including leases, revenue agreements, and service contracts.
• Advise on procurement issues and monitor emerging legal developments to inform organizational decision-making.
• Provide authoritative guidance on legislation, policy, and enterprise risk-mitigation.

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days WFH; availability for 5 days in-office required when necessary).
