Assistant General Counsel

Role Overview

Cencora is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel (AGC) to support Cencora Global Procurement (CGP) in Cork, Ireland. This senior role involves providing legal counsel within a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, focusing on corporate governance, manufacturer-facing contracting, data privacy compliance, and strategic risk management.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Law degree and qualified to practice in Ireland (in good standing).
• 7–10+ years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in-house or at a leading law firm.
• Demonstrated expertise in commercial contracting and regulated industry environments.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Corporate Governance: Act as Secretary to CGP, managing Board processes and ensuring compliance with The Companies Act 2014.
• Contracting: Draft, review, and negotiate complex pharmaceutical manufacturer-facing agreements and global contracting strategies.
• Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with GDPR and U.S. data privacy laws.
• Strategic Oversight: Manage outside counsel, oversee legal services (HR, IP, litigation), and advise leadership on regulatory developments and jurisdictional expansion.
• Management: Provide leadership and management for one or more legal professionals.
