Centivo, an innovative health‑plan provider headquartered in Buffalo, NY, is hiring an Associate General Counsel to join its in‑house legal team. The role focuses on healthcare‑industry law, especially self‑insured health plans.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. state (preference for NY)
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in‑house setting
- Experience with commercial agreements, ERISA, HIPAA, and health‑plan regulations
- Familiarity with contract‑management tools (e.g., Ironclad) and interest in legal‑process automation
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Draft, negotiate, and manage client, vendor, and partnership agreements (ASAs, MSAs, BAAs, DUAs, joint‑marketing agreements)
- Integrate contract intake with systems such as Salesforce and oversee contract inventory in Ironclad
- Provide regulatory advisory on privacy, ERISA, DOL, and medical licensing matters
- Manage disputes, coordinate outside counsel, and track matter resolution
- Support M&A activities, conduct legal due diligence, and prepare transaction documents
