Circle is hiring a Senior Counsel, Arc to join its Product Legal team in Greater Philadelphia / The Dalles, OR. The role provides strategic legal support for the launch and evolution of Arc, an enterprise-grade layer-1 blockchain designed by Circle, advising on complex global regulatory landscapes, blockchain technologies, and digital asset frameworks.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Degree & Bar: J.D. degree with strong academic credentials and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- Experience: 10+ years of relevant legal experience at a top law firm or in-house at a technology/financial services company (candidates with fewer years but significant relevant expertise may apply).
- Domain Expertise: Deep familiarity with U.S. financial regulations (securities, commodities, banking, or payments law), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), AML, sanctions, and money transmission laws.
- Technical Familiarity: Experience advising on legal risks for blockchain, digital assets, smart contracts, token design, or distributed governance models.
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Advise on the design, launch, and governance of the Arc network for global regulatory compliance.
- Lead regulatory analysis related to blockchain, Web3 infrastructure, digital assets, and financial frameworks.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and Policy teams to align blockchain features and smart contract structures with applicable laws.
- Implement legal policies, protocols, and risk mitigation strategies for scalable network operations.
- Contribute legal insight and strategic input to leadership briefings and regulatory engagement efforts.
Stipend, Compensation & Mode
Base Pay Range: $230,000 - $297,500 (determined by relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and business needs).
Mode: Full-time with flexible work environment options.
