Principal Corporate Counsel: Incubation & Enterprise AI at Cisco
Cisco is hiring a Principal Corporate Counsel to join the Incubation, Data & AI (IDA) Legal team in Austin, TX. This role provides critical legal support to Outshift by Cisco (Ciscoโs emerging technology incubation engine) and the Enterprise AI Platforms & Infrastructure team. The position involves advising on quantum networking technologies, open source programs, and enterprise AI applications like CIRCUIT and MyAgent.
Key Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD)
- Experience: 8+ years in a law firm or in-house legal department
- Expertise: Product counseling, technology law and transactions, and IP licensing
- Skills: Ability to synthesize complex regulatory landscapes and translate technical/legal concepts for executives and engineers
Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Serve as a key legal partner to fast-paced incubation teams building and graduating innovative projects.
- Provide legal guidance on third-party collaborations, ideation, prototyping, and emerging technology evolution.
- Ensure compliance by design through cross-functional collaboration.
- Advise on joint development, partnerships, regulatory risk, IP/patent protection, data governance, privacy, and AI ethics.
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate and streamline legal guidance for business teams.
Compensation & Work Model
- Salary Range: $192,300.00 to $243,900.00 (Annual)
- Work Model: Hybrid (2 days in-office per week)
