CSL's biopharmaceutical division, Seqirus, is hiring a Legal Counsel, EMEA based in Maidenhead, England. The role sits within the Global Seqirus Legal team and reports directly to the Seqirus Associate General Counsel, EMEA. The counsel will serve as the primary regional legal interface for standard-form contracting across Europe (including the UK), the Middle East, and Africa, while also advising on commercial, regulatory, employment, and compliance matters — with a specific focus on supporting the Liverpool manufacturing facility.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB), J.D., Masters, or equivalent foreign law degree
• Admission to the bar in the UK or an EU country
• 2–4 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal role
• Fluency in English and at least one additional language — preferably German, French, Spanish, or Italian
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within cross-functional, cross-cultural, matrixed environments
• Strong business acumen and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Lead legal support for preparing, negotiating, and finalising standard-form contracts across the EMEA region; act as primary regional interface between counsels, regional lawyers, and business stakeholders
• Support enterprise initiatives including template generation, harmonisation, process optimisation, and contracting innovation
• Provide general legal advice to commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Procurement functions — with particular focus on the Liverpool manufacturing facility
• Advise on employment law matters in association with the Associate General Counsel
• Support subsidiary management activities in collaboration with the Company Secretary and Corporate Governance team
• Deliver solutions-focused legal advice on contract interpretation and regulatory compliance, including pharmaceutical industry-specific regulations
• Collaborate with the Seqirus Compliance Team on compliance initiatives across EMEA
• Advise on third-party disputes and their management
