DigitalOcean is hiring a Senior Corporate Counsel, Product to join its legal team in Denver, CO. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, this role involves acting as a full-stack product counsel advising product, engineering, and go-to-market teams across the product lifecycle, with a specific focus on artificial intelligence and cloud computing legal challenges.

Key Eligibility Criteria

• Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensure: Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state.
• Experience: 8+ years of legal experience, with significant in-house experience supporting SaaS, PaaS, and/or IaaS product development teams.
• Specialization: Track record of counseling AI product and engineering teams; strong understanding of US/global privacy regulations, IP, open-source software, and data security.

Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Act as a trusted partner and primary legal contact for technical and non-technical teams (Marketing, Product, Engineering, Operations).
• Conduct comprehensive legal risk assessments for product development, covering privacy, regulatory, licensing, and IP concerns.
• Identify and resolve legal issues related to customer data, privacy, security, export control, open-source software, and responsible AI.
• Draft and negotiate complex commercial agreements, data protection agreements, terms of service, and privacy policies.
• Support legal strategy for critical incident response and regulatory investigations.
• Co-develop scalable self-service legal playbooks, templates, and automated workflows.
